Wrocław – the capital of Lower Silesia, the southwestern part of the country near the borders with Germany and Czech Republic - is one of the oldest cities in Poland. Due to a troubled past, dating back to the 10th century, Wrocław has seen a lot of violence and devastation. However, it has been successfully restored and now stands among the highlights of the entire central European region.
Wrocław belongs to the most appealing spots in Poland. Situated on the Odra River, it is cut by its many branches, tributaries and canals into several islands connected by more than a hundred bridges.
