Satellite workshop: IWSP-2011
The long-standing tradition and rich history of surface-science conferences organized by the Institute of Experimental Physics of the University of Wrocław since 1976 has been continued in the new millennium, under a slightly modified format, by International Workshops on Surface Physics (IWSP). Already fifth in this biennial series, the IWSP-2011 will be held on September 2–5, 2011, in Lądek-Zdrój, a charming little spa in the middle of picturesque Sudetian Mountains nearby Wrocław.
Entitled “Surfaces and Nanostructures”, the IWSP-2011 will both provide an overview of the state-of-the-art surface physics and chemistry in the nanometer scale and highlight latest advances in this area. The scientific program will be built around several invited lectures, prepared especially for the sake of students and early-carrier researchers, but will also include short oral and poster contributions. Due to the unique - quite informal and relaxing, yet highly stimulating - atmosphere, the workshop will offer a wide forum for fruitful discussions and create maximum opportunities for exchange of ideas. The ultimate goal is to encourage direct person-to-person contacts and facilitate an effective transfer of knowledge between the renowned experts and the beginners in the field.
The IWSP-2011 workshop is organized as a satellite meeting to ECOSS-28. A special bus transfer to Lądek-Zdrój (on Friday afternoon, September 2, 2011) and back to Wrocław (on Monday afternoon, September 5, 2011) will be available to all IWSP-2011 participants. Registered ECOSS-28 attendees are entitled for a special reduced IWSP-2011 fee of 350 Euro, if all payments are effective by 30 June 2011.
